Ok guys, the car has a whopping 42 miles on it now and we finally got a dry day here in Chicago so I took it to work. While it is cloudy, it certainly is not dark. But I noticed that my auto headlights turned on as I pulled out of the dark garage and stayed on the entire time.

Are these really sensitive or do they take a lot of light to turn off?

i just depends on how thick the clouds are. in seattle [we have lots of clouds] my lites go on and off. thru out the day and the direction of travel. every cars sentivity id slightly different so no real fixed point can really be determined.

It is dealer adjustable, mine are due to be adjusted shortly, they are on most of the time.

Doug_999: Mine stayed on for the entire time this morning. On cloudy days like today, mine stays on all the time. it goes off when it is slightly brighter than today (and obviously when the sun is out).

I think that your dealer can adjust the sensitivity; no problems for me in Phoenix.
