I'm able to open and close the windows and sunroof with the remote on my 2008 E60. The dealer told me this is a feature of comfort access.

How are you doing it?

To answer some of the questions. On the 2008 US spec the rear reflectors are standard. When I initially saw the car I was surprised but I like it. I ordered the car with comfort access and from what the dealer told me the auto-close/open feature is standard for windows and sunroof. To put the windows down and sunroof open I hold the arrow on the key and to let them up I push the BMW emblem on the key. I took some getting use to and I'm still figuring out the car as I go.

I am sure guys like nicke60gre , can figure out how to the wiring, so we can enable it too
The wiring is there, but in the US they just have disabled the function by software.
What LCI does?
If LCI has got the "close by remote" function by default, then there is a hope for pre-LCI cars to get it in the future (along with mirrors auto folding function)

Nicke60gre, I wanted to mention that the LCI does have the auto folding function. I didn't know that this was a new function until I spoke with a friend that has a 2007.

Should M5 mirrors work with no problem on the 2008s? To include the auto folding function?

It is an option that (since 2003) you can always add when you order the car, but not in the US.

I think option code is S313A

My car is US spec but I ordered it in Germany because I'm stationed here. From what I see when ordered here you get more standard options that you would otherwise have to pay for.

According to the 08 US manual, if you have comfort access, you can close all the windows and the sunroof by holding your finger on any of the door handles in the same place that you would to lock the doors. Neat trick if it works. Hopfully I'll have mine re-delivered next week and can try it.

Yeah, but you still have to be right at the car to perform the "comfort closing" procedure. It's not too different from comfort closing without comfort access -- the key in lock method...
