I picked up my new 525d from the dealer today and took it for about a two hour drive. Absolutely great. When I drove again this evening, the radio would cut out for about 10-15 seconds then come back. I tried different channels - FM and AM, tried the CD Player and TV. Same result every time - the sound is OK for a minute or two, then 10-15 second silence and continues this cycle indefinately. I have tried with engine off, engine on and stationery and also moving. Same results every time.
I apologise if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find a post on this topic.

Possibly the radio is looking for better reception?? And doesn't know when there is a good signal?? Not sure.

I was trying to pair my SE T610 and noticed that the gaps in radio reception seemed to coincide with every time the screen display for the Bluetooth changed when hunting for the phone. As I had not previously tried to pair the phone, I am not sure why the audio problems started yesterday. After much frustrated head scratching I opened up the armrest to have a look at the cradle holder and popped this up to have a look. When I pressed it back down, the screen display automatically jumped to the phone configuration display. After sitting in quiet contemplation (read frustration) I noticed that radio was no longer cutting out. The problem seems to have gone. Is the phone cradle not seated properly likely to cause this problem? Not too bothered, as the problem now seems to have gone away.
However, time to go search for a suitable thread as I have not yet managed to get the phone to work and I understood that this was one of the few models which should. I might dig out an old T68i which I had some time ago and see if that will work.
BTW... thanks for the welcome to the forum Iceman, alohalc and GotBMW. Looks like you and I share a birthday, GotBMW.
