It looses....no questions asked. If both are stock and in both cars are similar drivers (as in driving capabilities) the bimmer wins. Period. 
I'd even argue that the 530i could match it and in many cases beat it. Car and Driver tested the new 4.2, it did 0-60 in 6.4 seconds - that's the same as BMW's estimate for the 530i (and that's a very conservative estimate). It is possible that it pulls harder at certain RPM than a 6 cylinder engine, but if you could keep the 530i in the sweet spot it should hand the 4.2 its ass every time. The same article claims a 130mph limiter on the Audi.

4.2 is a V8 right? 545i's are 4.4 V8's. But i think the audi is heavier....

Have you tested this? I also have a 530i and the I6 is a sweet engine, but beating a V8? Also, I think BMW's figures for the 530i is pretty much on the mark since magazines report around the same. I do have a friend who has a 4.2 A6 ... will have to wait til he breaks it in though.
There isn't an N52-engined 530i that has been tested yet by the automotive press to my knowledge.

The 2006 4.2 A6 is only available in a quattro for the US market. With the extra weight and parasitic loss of the drive line there is no way it would beat a 545i. I would even agree that a new 530i would give it a good run with the right driver.
