So as I was exiting onto 85 N. Ca an Audi A6 4.2 T *New Audi, didn't even have his plates* decides he wants to play. So we're rolling at 65 with no way of knowing when to floor it, but normally you can tell when to mash on the gas. So we're off neck and neck 80, 90, 100, 110, at 110 the car sort of Bogged *redlined i guess* and the Audi pulled just a bit, 120 he gave up and slowed down dramatically. Here I am thinking Yesssssss Wiiiiinnnnnnn. On the corner of my eye i noticed a black and white car CHP, luckily he already pulled someone over.

Issues: Car bogged and redlined? Its an automatic. I didn't think you can redline an automatic.
Audi was pretty fast.

Moral: Shouldn't be racing in a four door sedan, let alone racing at all.

Anyone else play with an Audi A6 4.2T?

Adrian

Didn't know there is such a model? Audi A6 4.2 T? What's that 4.2 petrol turbo?!?!?!?!? Weird...i knew it's 4.2 petrol quattro and 4.2 TDI engine wich is also quattro but if i'm not mistaken it's available only to the A8. If it was a 4.2 quattro i suspect you should have beaten him without too much drama.

Yeah it was a 4.2 Quattro, but I could of sworn I saw a T after 4.2.

If this were the case, it was hard to pull on the guy with my 545.

4.2T ? could it be an old RS6 ? 4.2 twin turbo putting out 450bhp and some big torque numbers?

Anyway....i don't think this car should have put problems to your 545i. Not too much problems...unless it was tricked in a way or you went wrong somewhere.

Reading some threads here on E60 I noticed that bogging could have been a result of me not turning off the DSC/DTC. Next I will...

Do so. but stay alert. I achive often wheelspin at 50-60km/h if i floor it at that speed i get aprox 30meters of wheel spin, wich if you're not carefull with the steering you might have to back off for a fraction of a second because you'll probably have your tail passing u ...i dunno i never drove a 545i to say but in my case with all that torque i find sooooo easily loosing grip. Really need some 275 on the back...

Next time use the 3 honk rule - someone honks 3 times and then floor it.

I would've thought the Audi A6 4.2 would lose. In most tests its acceleration times are much slower than a 545.

It looses....no questions asked. If both are stock and in both cars are similar drivers (as in driving capabilities) the bimmer wins. Period.
