I wish that was the case. Mine has 63K miles and definately goes through periods of rough idle. I've cleaned the maf, put in a K&N filter, and run fuel injection cleaner and it still runs rough at times. Next I'll change the plugs. Maybe I should just trade up to a 550

Why not make that an M5?

Mine runs smooth as silk all the way up to redline with no hesitation.

Oh, when it idles at 500 rpm, there's some shaking, but turn on the AC (get the compressor to run), the rpm jumps to 700 rpm and idles smooth. In general, it don't think it will idle smooth like a LS Lexus, but should not be rough like a GM.

No major problems here. Mine to also seems a little rough at first start on cool days but after warming up it's a lot smoother. Generaly where is the 545 suposed to idle? Mine is around 750.

I got between 500 to 550 when the engine is warm up even with AC on. but your is 750? with AC on?

Yeah, it is rougher sometimes specially in cold start and cold days. It is randomly but in the most of the cases it is smooth. It is hard to pin point the rough when it happens. Maybe the gas (I use 91 and 94 octane only) from different brands?.
I did changing spark plugs, MAF cleaned, fuel treatments/cleaner.

thank you for SIB. it is a big work and it's hard to make a decision, first of all because it's unclear if it's gonna help. It will cost a lot. Would be nice to know if anyone perfomed this fix before.

Did it take care of your rough idle?

someone mentioned that it runs better with AC on. Same with my car - ones RPM is higher it idles better. so may be it is normal..

I have had the SIB done - it did solve the issue of rough idle when cold and at traffic lights. I showed the SA the SIB and since my car is CPO it cost me $50 to get done.

A few months later I had to completely reprogram my car due to the FTM going off at all times. Now the rough idle is back - so I will be taking it back in.

my idle is around 500 that sounds right then, i only get that once in a while the slight rough idle, but i'll check out the SIB that is offered.

well, seems like warranty will cover. but how did you get them to work on it? my dealer says it's normal for the car to run like that, so warranty will not cover. I have extended warraty until 100k.

if it came back few month later may be this is not a resolution.. may be it's supposed to work like that, i don't know. let us know how your next dealer visit goes
