Anyone think the ride of the sport pack is softer

My Ride: '05 545i - scheduled for ED pickup in Munich on 7/22!
I recently had the chance to test drive two 530i's Non-Sports, an E90 330i Sport, and an E90 325 Non-Sport.
Out of all of them, I thought my own car was waaaay more comfortable. Over bumps and potholes in NYC, my car would bounce along smoothly, whereas the other cars would dip and crash a lot harder.
Because of this, the other cars naturally felt "tighter", and made me believe that they'd handle better in the corners. Therefore, I would feel more comfortable driving them hard.
Does anyone else think that the sports suspension is TOO SOFT?
EVEN softer than the standard suspension?
Or am I going crazy?

I had the feeling that with the sport package,the ride would be more bumpier?I felt that while driving a x5 4.4 sport package and 530 no sport package

I don't think the sport suspension is too soft, but it's not surprising to hear that it might feel softer--on straights--than the non-sport suspension. ARS is an active stabilizer bar system, which activates to tighten up the suspension on twisties to reduce body roll, and allows a comfortable ride on straights, so you have the best of both worlds. Without ARS, you're trying to balance precise handling vs. ride comfort. Here's an interesting article:

NAh sport pack is way better I thought when I go for it it will be bumpy and stuff NO it so comfortable even on road bumps and stuff.
I also tried now a 20" car and it was not bumpier at all stiffer but my spine did not fell all the bumps at all.
So go for sports and big WHEELZ!

From other posts quite a few members who do have sport do seem to prefer the ride after switching to either a different brand of runflat or changing to regular tires. You're on the right track though - seems pretty clear that tires make an important difference, whether you've got the sport suspension or not.

All the cars I drove had runflats.
What I'm try to describe is that it almost seems as if with the sport package, BMW didn't add ARS/DD to the standard suspension. Instead they added ARS/DD to a SOFTER suspension.
Not sure if that's actually what the setup is, but it sure feels that way to me.

[/quote]either way I think we're saying the same thing - tires do make a difference. Did take a look at the BMW UK website though and only the optional wheels are specifically stated to be runflats. No mention of runflats on the specs for the standard wheels.
