I've had several issues with Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas, CA not wanting to cover my car under the factory extended warranty. I find myself arguing with them every time over service issues that should be covered. Anyone else with the extended warranty experiencing poor service from dealerships over 50K miles?

That's not good to hear! What are they fighting you on? As I recall the factory warranty is a bit light on covering some electronics such as iDrive or Nav. I am approaching 4 years on my car and am begining to look into warranties. Will be curious to see other responses as to whether this is your dealer being a pain in the behind, or common issue.

I purchased a G.E. Warranty, that's suppose to cover ALL of the electronic, therefore not eliminating the iDrive as an individual issue. It cost me 3K, but I think it's well worth it though I'm 12K short of 50K. When I registered my car with the service department, they didn't seem to say anything detrimental against G.E. Maybe you should take you matter up with the MAIN OFFICES at BMW? LEt me know how you make out...............Good Luck.

Latest from Bob Smith BMW, they are covering the software programming as a "courtesy". What a joke! I'm really surprised that no one else has also encountered my warranty issues...I'm sure more to come as people start breaking that 50K mark.

Bob Smith is a Big Swindler.

I bought my 2004 525i from them 5 months ago and immediately started hearing a rubbing noise from the front end. I took it in about 5 times for the same thing only to be told they couldn't find anything wrong.

The last time I brought it in they told me that my front sway bar had "road damage" and needed to be replaced at a cost of 400$$$. I took the car to CENTER BMW and they TIGHTENED the front swaybar. NO MONEY SPENT AND NO MORE NOISE.

CENTER BMW SAID THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE SWAY BAR!!!

BS has dicked me on alot of other things too. Really to many things to list...

I just hit 50k so hopefully I've got this bitch sorted out cause I know Bobby won't be of much help.

I drive a lot too i'm at 49k right now, and my extended warranty covers up to 100k, I only recommend two dealers that i usually take it to, either Valencia , or the one in Main street alhambra, my brother took his 5 series to monrovia assael bmw he said their ok, good luck with your choices i always talk to the same SA so they know me. I think its always good to stick with the SA that deals with your car so they remember you or know your situations better than other SA.
