That looks completely different than how my car looks. I'm guessing you have Sunroof, SOS, 2 mics (either side) and the last one is Passenger Airbag Off indicator correct?
However that part looks like the one I went to pick up today. Mine is a lot smaller and I have a gap between that trim piece and the map lights panel. I'll post a picture too soon to show you what I mean.

The part in Kscarrol's pic is 51447125072. As you said it holds (from left to right) mic, SOS, Moonrrof switch, Pass Airbag indicator, mic. In grey.
This is for US cars (got it using my VIN). I have noticed that sometimes identical parts used in diferent markets have diferrent part nums.
Post a pic and I can look it up in ETK where it has EU and US markets parts.

See my part. I took it out at this angle to show you that my trim piece does not touch the lights panel. Also I see your trim piece is covered in fabric, mine is plastic. The shape is completely different and also you have black mic grills added to the piece whereas my trim piece has the mic grills.

mine is a Jan 2006 car. This may be why there are so many trim options on RealOEM for that part. So I can choose from 5 , 6, 7 only in http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=...hg=51&fg=55
I think I have part 6 on the car so I need a part 7.
I wonder how a UK or EU car with all your options (mic, SOS, Moonrrof switch, Pass Airbag indicator, mic) looks?
Infact more interested to see how UK or EU cars with mic, SOS, Moonroof switch, mic looks. Anyone?

Bruce,
I think I have an answer for you. The part you need is 51447124007. This is part (7) in the realoem.com link I sent you earlier.
Here are the findings so far:
Parts #5 and #7 are available in the US market.
Parts #5 and #6 are available in the UK (but not #7 - Special order)
Part #7 has the mics as in your picture and will include openings for the moonroof switch and SOS button but not for the passenger air bag disable lamp as we have in the US. I wonder what the reason is for this (law suites in the US?).
Good luck with your project
and don't loose any parts

I now actually have another theory.
The larger trim part is used whenever a sun-roof is involved, the smaller trim part is used for cars without the sun roof. The only reason then why you would want two holes in the smaller trim part was when you had the SOS and the passenger air-bag disable light (which is available as a retrofit). BMW expect no one to retrofit the sun-roof! Unless someone can show me a photo of the smaller trim piece with the sun-roof button. Once I've finished my project my car will be the only one like that ;-)
I don't loose parts, I land up with extras....BTW I'm still waiting for someone to help me with my extra parts
