My car has been stuck at 2100 miles to oil change for about 2000 miles as best I can remember. At first I thought it would just drop down to zero all of a sudden. When it didn't move, I went to the dealer (losers, idiots, lazy...). I told them that it hadn't moved in a while - I have a 14k miles plus a bit. Maybe you should just change the oil. Well of course they didn't and just said that "your car is not due" for service.
So after some discussions with the supervisor. A nice guy but a total handler - ie - his job is to handle you. They showed me their fancy system for checking the keys to determine if service is needed. Mine said - not for 2113 miles (I am pretty sure that was it). So then he demonstrated another 545 - it needed service in 2113 miles also - amazing coincidence? (It had about 8000 miles FWIW).
So I said - maybe there is a bug that tends to get the counter stuck at that particular number - why, I have no idea. Anyone else stuck at 2100 miles? The dash counter goes down by 100s below 5,000 I think but the car is tracking it mile by mile.
Of course the dealer had never heard of counters getting stuck - but I know someone here has had it be stuck. I now am waiting 500 miles and taking it back when they will have to see that there is indeed something wrong.

No. My car is stuck at the factory settings for service. I have had no change in any of my service numbers since the day I got my car, with 2 factory miles on it.
I now have almost 16,000 miles.... and it still says 14,000 miles until my oil service.
I did get BMW to change my oil a few weeks ago, however. And they did a software reprogram. But so far, still no changes in my service computer. I'm taking car back in tomorrow to have this checked on again.

My 2005 545i never moved off 14,000 to service. At 17,500 actual milage, my dealer decided there was a problem and replaced the central computer unit and upgraded the software.

I'll let you guys know.
