Louder in a good way or does it sound more diesel like?
louder in a good way, up to 3000 REVS or so, you cant hear the diesil engine, but after that you do, peak loudness is around 1800 to 2300 i think, that might change in time as its only been one day yet,
i,l give it atleast 8000 miles before i give it a clean

This chain once again show how stupid these forums sometimes are. It does not matter if it has been testimonied several (dozens) times that these "free" air filters only lower hp.
A couple of posters allreay told the thruth: Engine receives warmer air = loss of power, also the air is not so stable that comes from original filter. And finally it needs oiling which may destroy the air mass meters film, or at least reduce its function. E60 has so developed engine management that "remapping" is not needed. Yes, it will remap to different map. because of warm air.
But: a lot of women uses several moistures/chemicals to look younger, does not matter if they know that is only a fool. Same with these "tuning" parts. People love to thing that those help, no matter about the thruth.
Remember: there are anonymous DINAN or other sales people writing here crap.

The biggest risk with these replacement filters is what aeroresh has hinted at already. In many cases they eat (expensive) MAF's.

If you have the start/stop button, it will be a 231hp.
KN is running fine, seems to defitnately be pulling in air, and can certainly hear it suck the air in.
My first impression is that there is no performance enchancement, but definately can hear the air go into the engine, other then this my mpg hasnt changed or driving style.
You can usually hear it between the 1800 to 2300 revs more then any other rev change.
Only done 300 miles on it yet
