Yes and Yes, but talking a dealer into letting you take one for a test ride will not be easy. One local dealer is asking 10 grand over sticker, the guy I'm dealing with has agreed to sell me the car for sticker, no discount.

I'm not really a fan of the new M3, but if I was the only way I'd consider one would be if I still lived in Germany where I can let it fly on the A-bahn.

But here in the states? With the max speed limit at 70mph?? I'd have to say no.

I used one for the two day M School in SC last week - loved it. Would I get rid of my 535i for it? I've been wondering that myself. I don't think I will, but I can see how people would make the jump. If I did, I think I'd wait for the dual clutch model this summer. I loved driving the stick, but I sometimes have to commute to Boston, and that would be a real drag.

I test drove an 08 M3 Coupe with a manual at Otto's in West Chester, PA. I currently own an 04 545i which I purchased after leasing an 02 M3 Coupe with SMG. I loved my M3. The new M3, although the looks need to grow on me, is an awesome ride. The pull over my 02 M3 is really noticable with the new V8. The handling and brakes were great as well. I like the new M3 and the exhaust note is much more aggressive than the former.

I purchased an 06 911 Cabrio last year otherwise I would get another M3. I may be bias but the M3 is one great street legal sports car.

I've been working with my dealer on trading my 535 for the new M3 vert...after a lot of negotiating I'm at a price I can live with...but not really sure it's worth $80K +. No offense meant, it's a sweet and beautiful car but at 80 large I'm not convinced the value is there? Also, being the vert, it's one heavy car at 4100 + lbs. You can feel the weight too. And I REALLY like my 535...just did a 300 mile round trip yesterday and it is amazing ride...really torn between getting the M3 vert or not. The fact that it's smaller and I would have to give up options (HUD, 20 way comfort seats, factory alarm, etc.) that I have on my 535 isn't appealing to me either....we shall see. One last barrier is timing...my dealer has a production slot 90 days out...so I would be getting the tail end of the 2008's with the '09's coming out a month later...don't want a year old car after one month. Might make more sense to just wait on an early 2009.

It is one nice ride though and I love the agressive looks with the 19's

With $5 gas on the horizon, and the m3's Oh so stellar city mileage, It's kinda why I ended up with the 535i. The M3 sedan and the 535i sports were with in 1k of each other , the gas and insurance were the deciding factors, even though I could get the M3 in Bright red vs no on the 5 with out special order...
