Car has otherwise been a TOP ATHLETE! LOVE the car and want to keep it. Just very scared of it as I have no more warranty.

so glad i saw this tread. i plan on buying a 2007 530xi with 100k on it. would like to keep it for a long time.
i have a 3 series and i change the oil every 5k miles or 3 months. i've put 100k miles on it and it already had 45k miles when i bought it, its still running strong.

I am a new member here, though I have lurked for 5 plus years.
I have a 2006 530i that I purchased with 19K miles on it. It currently has 121K.
I have had no real issues. M one non routine maintenance item was replacing the radiator which apparently had a very small crack - though only once did it ever require a top off of anti-freeze.
I am hoping to get at least 200K on it...

158,000 miles. Got the Starter replaced, transmission fluid/pan replaced. Rest is maintenance...but my power windows are flaking out, on the driver's side.

Awesome ride
I hav e a 2004 5series just recently hit 100k this was a gift from my sister. The way I see it if you take care of you car and always keep doing its maintance you shouldn't have any problems. Yeah there will be imes were something will break but if you like care you car and you have put sweat and tears than it obvious you will try your best to fix and keep on moving

What do I win? lol
Have replaced transmission solenoids, fluid & filter/pan, spark plugs, water pump, thermostat, expansion tank, oil pressure switch (had a leak) and CCV so far (I've had it about 15K miles). Not bad considering the mileage.

I've got a touch over 150k on my '06 530i. Two batteries, a starter, and a coil have been replaced in the last few years but it runs well although I did have to re-adapt the transmission a few times for slow starting and poor shifting.
