Another micro power module (MPM) blown!

Here is another one...
I toke my car to my local dealer for a car wash & wax. After 2 days of enjoying my shiny car. Surprise; Idrive, radio, telecomunication, went off...
The MPM melted. At least isnt that bad as you guys...
Rigth now my car is not under guaranty, and Im working with my dealer to fix it. Because they cause the short circuit.
I hope I dont have to re-wire and/or replace any mayor components.
Attached some pics.

Hello,
I'm having the idrive issue in a 2007 530i. No stereo, idrive comes on and off with full function (minus stereo) and then 'resets' about every 10 min. I thought from 05 forward this part have moved to the glove compartment? Thank you

There is a TSB or SIB for the dealers to "relocate" all the electronics from the low positions to high up on either side of the car, but they only do this if the car takes on water from the Sun roof leaks ( wagon) or the rear window leaks ( sedans). You may want to pull all the rear trunk stuff out to have a look at the controllers to see if there has been any water damage or there is still water on either side of trunk ( where the Batt is a good place to start) or under the spare tire and foam inserts, or at the top of the load floor right behind the rear seat, there is another module there that also can get soaked

I'm having the same issues with my 550i. Battery has been changed out, Alternator has checked out as being fine, one mechanic tells me the his tests show that the computer is not powering down when the car is turned off. I've called around to plan for getting a technician to test out it thoroughly, both have said it sounds like a power module or MPM going out. I've looked under the tire in my car and there is no visible sign of burning like you guys show here. I'm assuming I'm finding the items here in these pics below.
I was really hoping this would clearly be the issue since I can fix this myself. Any idea where else I can look to issues with the iDrive system not coming on?
Thanks,

I just went through the fuses, both in the rear wheel well (trunk) and the glove box. When I was in the car, towards the front passenger side, I could hear the faint sound of a fan or drive turning behind the center dash. It was near or below and behind the DVD player. I figure this is something to do with the CCC/Navigation system. When I was going through the fuses, I pulled out #18 and the faint fan/drive/hissing sound stopped. That is what is apparently draining my battery right? I've decided to leave it out for now so I can still keep the car going while not draining my battery all the time. I've attached pics below. Should this sound and device be running all the time? Even after the car has been off for hours? One indy tech told me there were error codes that the electronics weren't powering off and draining battery.
Any how, I'm still unsure if the white device pictured in previous post is the MPM. Does a 2007 550i have an MPM, I read in other posts that certain years didn't have an MPM.
Also, another new indy tech I'm talking to is saying I he would like to update my software to the latest 2010 software update, that could help clear up issues. But this doesn't sound like a software issue and clearly a hardware issue right (like parts)?
Any input would help.
