Hopefully someone on here can help me?? I have a late 2003 E60. Recently got my Dension Gateway 500 installed and everything worked fine, even displayed text from my ipod. However, and here's where i kick myself, I plugged in my portable hard drive into the USB port and everything has gone hay-wire: I can't access the source on the iDrive, and the screen mimicks that of when just the CDC would be there, i.e. CDs 1-6 as well as the CD (dash slot) I do have a new file on the root of my hard drive entitled MediaID.bin, tried updading to the latest firmware V 2.22 but to no avail, I seem to have lost my MP3 compatibility so I'm stumped!! Anyone got any ideas for returning to previous set-up???

I think your portable hard drive has to be in the correct "format" to work with the DEnsion but I just don't remember if is was Fat32 or NTFS

Your harddrive is using more power than the Dension can supply. Dension supply another power booster cable UPB1000, looks like you need that.

Thanks Guys, I probably won't ever go connect that hard drive to the Dension again, but the question is Can I return my unit to its proper set up?
