Hi,

I have an 07 525d with an annoying problem. Im based in the UK and every time it gets warm outside - the centre console vibrates. During the winter its fine but as soon as it starts to warm up outside - there is an annoying buzz that seems to come from somewhere behind the DVD drive/Idrive screen. Needless to say every time it goes into the dealer it dosnet make the noise so they cant diagnose it. Any thoughts? It sounds like a vibration noise as it only happens at certain revs.

On another note - iv got a snooper s2 which is currently plugged into the fag lighter. It comes with a hardwire kit. Is there anywhere sensible to take a power feed (ideally switched) from. Iv located the fuse box in the glove compartment but cant find a switched power supply - only constant (although does this change after the car has been off and locked for say 15 minutes). I just want to avoid a flat battery if i inadvertantly leave the snooper turned on.

Next you hear it take it to the dealer, have them take a ride with you. If you have a good relationship with your service rep they should be able to.

If that does not work just ask them to set the heater on max 10 min before they do their test drive after the car is warm then you should be able to simulate the interor conditions of a warm day.

 

Good call. I did take them out in it but predictably it didnt make the noise. Ill try with the heater and see if it sorts it! - any ideas on the powersupply?
