Whilst out on a trip today I was in slow moving traffic and noticed on the opposite side of the road the distinctive fantastic angel eyes of a an E39 heading towards me which I noticed from quite a distance away. Seconds later an E60 came toward me with just its side lights on and I could not see the angel eyes at all. This led me to think do UK non-xenon E60's not have angels eyes or are they not as noticable as the older cars lights being odd sizes???

Anyone else notice this?

As far as I know non-xenon E60's do not have angel eyes.

I was told that and didn't believe until I saw a very early E60 here which did not have xenon, and it really did not have the angel eyes.

All E60s have Angel Eyes regardless whether they have Bi-xenons or not.

The non-xenons on 1 series and new E90 3 series are the ones which don't have Angel eyes.

I might know the problem here. Friend of mine has exactly the same car with mine but the xenon. In US all E60 has angel eyes regardless xenon or not. But..the thing is that non xenon E60 doesnt has contrast between the bulb and the angeleyes. Both are yellowish. So most likely you wont see anything accept the small angel eyes (other than main headlight) at night. But with xenon you do have contrast between blueish bulb and yellow angel eyes thus you can notice both angel eyes at night.

This is correct.

All E60's have the Angel Eyes and should also have the yellow "eyebrows".

Ok back to the original question... I was able to see another E60 on the road last night and you're right its not as distinctive as the old E39 angel eyes... where they really stood out. Seems like the E60s like blend in more with the headlights... or the headlights are so bright that it drowns out the angel eyes...

Thanks for that, I now know I'm not going too mad. We'll all have to drive slowly on the pavement (sidewalk) to get maximum pose value as you can't see em on the road.
