In their wisdom, BMW have equipped their Australian E60 LCI models with 10 watt H8 angel eye lamps, in which the bulb and the reflector are a single unit. None of the LED angel eye upgrades on e-Bay and elsewhere have a fitting which would drop in to the place occupied by the stock bulb/reflector - at least none that I've been able to find. The attached photos show (in sequence) the lamp assembly in position, the rear of the headlamp body where the H8 angel eye lamp fits, the angel eye lamp holder showing the 12-volt plug and wires, and finally a front view of the angel eye bulb and reflector.
Does anyone know of a source of LED upgrade angel eye lamps which will fit in place of the stock ones pictured here?

Hi,
found this on eBay UK, and looking at it,it is shorter at the front -http://www.ebay.co.uk -5-SERIES-E60-LCI-2007-2010-LED-HALO-ANGEL-RINGS-UPGRADE-NON-XENON.
Or you could take the plastic weld off at the back of the bulb holder and take out the bulb and drill/bore to a bigger size hole, so that you can fit a canbus LED bulb in it's place, or a blue BA96S bulb
hope this helps.

And im speaking for the LCI model as well... i really want to upgrade my angel lights cause i hate the yellow but its driving me nuts when most of the kits/bulbs are based in the US, UK, and HK. Not sure if they will be the same for the AUS model.

I'm in Sydney. I did what SD_Dracula did....it's a b!tch to saw off the top part though.
If you don't want to cut, you can just get ceramic adhesive from bunnings and just glue the new LED's onto the bulb holder directly inside the headlight assembly. Takes about 2 hours to dry solid hard.
And yes...the factory ones are not H8. There are white LED's on eBay that are straight fit onto yours but they are only 5w.

I wouldn't glue them becuase they LEDs tend to only last like 6 months.
Then it would be impossible to take them out without taking the whole headlight out.
Easiest way is to buy the ones which are a direct fit.

try using some sort of silicone rather then glue ashen you can cut it using a perfecto knife if they blew out after six month.
I have checked online and the ones available are expensive just because they are for the LCI version what a bummer
