The alternator bracket I have no problem with just not the alternator seal

Yes, but using the proper terms does help in understanding problems. If you wish to use the term "seal" instead of gasket, then at least apply the term properly to the Alternator bracket - not just alternator. You have been referring to the alternator bracket leaks , but that wasn't clear from your description, hence the remarks about oil leaks from an electrical device, i.e. alternator proper. BTW, I wouldn't call a 4.4 l engine a "big block". with respect, Bob P.
