My Ride: 2005 525i Titanium Silver Metalic and 2003 325xi Jet Black with the Premium Package in both cars.
I always leaving the idrive settings to auto. I say let Nature (e60) takes it course........

My Ride: 2006 525i Jet Black (Base + PDC)
The blue/red settings in the I-drive is to control the amount and temp of 'Fresh Air' coming in from the vent. White closes off the fresh air vent. Blue cools the fresh air coming in and Red heats it up.
