What's up with the AC? Mine barely works sometimes. It's way too hot down in South Florida. Maybe the compressor?

My Ride: 2006 BMW 550i

is the center vent temperature adjusted to the low side on the idrive climate control settings? the + - adjustment which goes from red to blue.

Not sure. Mine gets as cold as I want, and pretty quickly as well.

yeah, make sure the iDrive options are set right...took me a couple of weeks to even discover this option

...now my aircon runs great!

Everything is set to the blue settings in the idrive.

No, I guess it's a AC sensor. I have written many times about it and
replaced it three times in my E60's and once in my E39.

Does your fan speed change when you adjust it? If not, that's it.

It's a very, very common failure in the E60's and the E39's.

had the same problem but it turned out to be the idrive adjustment, that blue temp guage. One thing I still can't figure out is what is the best adjustment for the air to come out better for the rear passenger. It's been pretty hot up in Nor Cal lately and my little daughter always complain about how cool air is not coming out as much for her in the back even though I've adjust those two dials. Any idea guys?

Checked the pressure in the system and it's way too high. Looks like the CPO covers cooling system. The compressor is working, so it could be the expansion valve.

the compressor always spins. there is an internal valve that controls the flow of freon.

Dropped it off this morning. SA says it's probably the compressor and not the expansion valve. We'll see what they come up with. Good thing is I'm only responsible for $50 CPO deductible.
