I set the air con to internal circulation but I am inhaling a lot of exhaust from the vehicles around me at any moment especially when there is a heavy vehicle. I have brought this up to the service agent on several occaasions and the reply is that the car is customised to take in external air at a set interval even though the air con is set to internal circulation. I am totally puzzled why this is the case and I have been repeatedly assured that all cars are made this way which is never the case as far as I know.
The agent is willing to adjust the automatic flap of the air con so that it does not open at a set interval at a cost which I do not see any reason why I should be paying for this.
Would appreciate your comments whether any of you is having the same problem and what I should do. Thanks.
Eug

Eug (Eugene?) please update where are you from, no you should not pay a cent to the dealer.

They shall adjust it at your request. So far I am using the internal button of AC as you (we have extended) do you? So in the tunnels against smog I use it and it works as a charm, I leave all on (auto, cold, and press once the lowest button) then it circulates the inside air only. Good luck mate that is not good if yours is not working! It is unhealthy.

That's right it is short for Eugene and I am from the tiny dot on the map known as Singapore.

The service agent insisted that there is nothing wrong with the automatic flap and it is meant to take in air at a set interval and he even challenged me to the fact that all cars are made in this mode which I cannot believe it to be true. I have complained of the unhealthy exhaust that I am inhaling every day when I am driving but he refuses to do anything. If more members do not have the same problem that I have, it is obviously wrong with my air con internal circulation.

Thanks.

I leave mine on automatic all the time and I never seem to smell anything when I'm driving behind trucks, etc.
