Hello,
i would like to install a CD changer to my E60 in the US
(currently without a premium package) in the glove compartment.

Has anyone done so and what did it cost ?

I remember, such changers for the older models were available over the web
and including the brackets etc. cost much less than at a dealership.
If one is one now available for the E60, where and how much ?

lastly,
has anyone installed one in the trunk where the location doesn't limit trunk space ?

I had one installed last week however, It does not yet work, the dealer that installed the changer did not have the updated software and must order it from Munich therefore, I have to go to a different dealer that has the updated software, and have them install the software update on my car. He said, after checking my car with there analysis computer, it showed my car did not have the most current software update, that?s why the CD changer did not work automatically.

I ordered the CD changer with my car for GBP270 and the dealer fitted it gratis. It required a software upgrade via replacement of the display unit before the car recognised the new device. Works just fine now.
