Added engine oil 2 times in 2 months

has anyone experienced this? his car is a month newer than mine (p/u in late july) and not even two months old. but the low engine oil warning was on two times already 
. he took the car back and those guy just added oil in his car and was good to go. they said it's normal due to the break-in period 
. i personally think it's b.s. 
. i told my friend if it happens again, within the next few months, ask for a new car

Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
On BMW its a low level light not a low pressure lights. Its pretty accurate at a quart below.
