Hi Guys
I notice that on my 04 530i, the adaptive headlight indicator green light around the headlight switch is blinking.

The temps are around 8F where i am. Have any of you seen this before? What does it mean?

Worried!

The blinking light means there is a fault with the adaptive lights. Can't say exactly what the fault is but it may be temperature related or it may be something else...

Just left her on for 25 mins. And it went away. I think it was temp related.

Thanks

I had this happened and the projector was stuck to the right. I took it in to the dealer and they had to replace the entire headlight.

It will only get to the point where it will lock up completly. My drivers side failed first and had o be replaced then a couple of months later the other failed. Both were replaced under warrenty and that also of course fixed all rock chips and fogging on the plastic lenses. Thanks again BMW Midlothian

Keep an eye on it... Mine did this and then got progressively worse until it failed completely - new headlamp unit...

I love the technology of the adaptive headlights, but the added complexity and mechanicals/electronice made me shy away in the end. This is the first thread I've noticed with adaptive headlight problems, I hope this doesn't become a pervasive issue.

...same deal with lots of the other nice technologies. Great when under warranty but could be expensive afterwards! This was a factor in getting rid of my E60 - the Active Steering would cost a bomb to fix if it went!
