Hey Fellas,
I have an pre-lci 550, and I just got a warning on the i-Drive for my adaptive head lights malfunction. Can anyone tell me if this is an easy fix? What causes this to happen? Thanks in advance.

Its probably one of your stepper motors... You will most likely notice you Adaptive feature no longer works - in other words your lights will not move and turn with you. For me it meant replacing the entire headlamp assembly - I got lucky and rolled it into an insurance claim because the headlamp assemblies are anywhere from $1200-$1600 each. Verify what the exact cause is - hopefully yours can be fixed and not need replacement.
Also, check the classifieds on this forum - often times people are selling the older headlamps and upgrading to LCI or Euro... you may get lucky.

Ok brother thanks for the info I just recently got her back from a minor front bumper damage that occured while in a parking lot. I made a claim and my insurance fixed it so I guess I can take it back, and have the body shop call them back and add another claim to the existing one like you did. What you think?

Absolutely! If it was working before, and not working after I would try it... not sure of the timeline but if its close enough you should be able to make a case of it. Don't sleep it though by waiting too long. I don't make a habit of looking at the green light... well I didn't until it happened to me!
