Hey guys! I am actually a new member. I love my 2001 530i and I am planning to replace it with a 2009 530i. When I was reading the brochure there was something called active steering. I have done some research and I read in a magazine they said it was annoying. Should I get this feature or not?

AS came standard on my 545i, and since this was my first bimmer, I really had nothing to compare it to. I suppose I got used to it and never had any of the complaints I have subsequently read about. The first real comparison to a non-AS bimmer I made was when I took mine in for scheduled maintenance and drove away in a loaner 330. After the first sharp turn, I knew instantly what the AS was doing for me. Since then, I have taken my 545i to the track (road course) and still have no complaints about the performance. I'm a big fan of AS!

I have Active Steering on my CPO 545i - it took me about a week to get used to - but now I absolutely love it!

I have it in my 545 and I like it. I have driven 5 series without it and It was not something that i noticed but wasn't like the difference between a 530 and a 550 in HP. Now i have a X5 without it and I have driven the same car with Active Steering and I personally believe that I is a big difference and I wish it had it.

Kamusta, pre... It's nice to see pinoys in this forum. You will love it. I have it in my ride now and loving it. Like what Al said, you will feel the difference especially driving through Manila. GL.
