I get this "fault" message quite often -- preceded by numerous clicks coming from the engine bay. I thought it was just the software.
Are all these "occurrences" recorded by the car so if I complain, the dealer will be able to verify?

yes, the errors are recorded, and have to be reset by the dealer once the car arrives in service

Very cool - thanks. I will still try to get a photograph the next time I have the problem so I have something to show the dealer.

Hi all, has anyone encountered this problem? One fine day, the on screen error message suddently appeared with faulty active steering. What is strange about it is, the active steering works perfectly and I was told that it could be sensor fault.
Am I the only one with this problem or has anyone come across similar problem? Hmmm....

The message is not a good thing. The clicking is a Bad thing!
What dealership are you using (if you don't mind me asking)?
I just got mine back tonight for the Dynamic Drive failure.
Oddly enough, they bled the steering rack. It appears there was some air in there.
Strange because I got a Dynamic Drive error and not an Active Steering error.

Also, my service advisor said that the car didn't record any of the faults.
I emailed him the photos that I took of the fault message on the screen and the message displaying on the dash - along with the mileage. (I always have my camera handy).
He believed me.
