Likely a battery issue/low voltage. May need a replacement battery.
he will be taking it to BMWHK and see if they can fix it.

Sixcard, I wish you good luck with your issue. My only intent was to point out how our vehicles are to a degree over-engineered and we have to pay the price. We do, however, have the option of simplifying the vehicle when we put our order in and thus avoiding some of the headaches down the road. I learned the hard way. My AS simply shut down and all power to the steering system was gone. Instead of trying to solve the issue, I feared a dangerous situation was possible at high speed so I got rid of the vehicle. Other people have had a similar situation occur. Yours and others like you have had a different symptomatic problem which leads me to believe something is just not right with AS in general and BMW needs to address its customers as to what's up with this technology.
