Active Steering and Dynamic Drive - 535/550

Get the active steering. Its an absolute must. We recently got a 325 coupe for my mum and I am kicking my self in the head for not taking the AS option. It makes the car feel so much nimbler. The standard setup on the E92 is ultra heavy, its a real effort driving the car. Dont listen to the car mag articles, every non-AS car I drive now feels like a big ship!

I enjoyed that setup with normal power steering much more.
I recommend Active Steering from the safety aspect
* AFS can intervene in an instant to provide a correction if the rear end starts to break away.
* AFS works with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) to prevent a skid. When the yaw sensors detect an oversteer situation (the back end beginning to step out), it clicks in a few degrees of opposite lock.

I'll ley upi all know what I think after I drive the 750. I'm more concerned about steering feel (precision + feedback) than I am about the other "stuff" it can do (not that safety isn't important). If the Active Steering loses the contact with the road, I'll skip it.

You could list in your sign the wheels and tyres you have.
As we know, they do make a heck of an differance how the E60 rides.
What do you mean with "I recommend Active Steering from the safety aspect"?
The test drive I did with a E60 with AS didn't improve at all.
A lady steering was my impression.

My Ride: 2006 550i SMG
I wish I would have opted for AS...there wasn't a lot of news though when I ordered my car. Without it 550i to me takes too much input at low speed to turn. At high speed, steering is great without it and may be just as good with it.
