I would not order AS again if I got a new E60 - it seems more prone to drift than standard steering

I never had a chance to drive an e60 with it so I didn't order it but from everything I've read in the past few months I think I would have liked it.

You going to goto the So Cal Meet in June? If So you can try mine... actually only reason I would is so I can try that nice engine of yours.

I have to agree with mostly everyone else. I would go ahead and get the option. Too bad they took it out of the sport package.

No I wouldn't order it again and I didn't order it again. I much prefer the standard setup. At speed the std setup is perfect. I found with my AS the car wandered at speed and the steering felt vague. Maybe its better now on the later models. The M5 I drove didn't have it which tells me something.

I love it on my current vehicle and would definitely want it on future models.

Has anyone known or has felt that AS has cut in to "help out"?

ABC
Twice.
1st time I did it on purpose - just wanted to know how it would feel if it happened "by itself".

2nd time, I was on an on-ramp a little hot and a little off line. There was some sand dropped right on the apex. Needless to say, the back end started to come around. Just as i was thinking that i should pull it back in line the car dialed in countersteer. However, at no time did I feel that the car was driving me. It was more like a kind reminder that some countersteer would help me "keep the shiny side up"!

I'd get A/S again, for the record.

I would order it again, but it would be no big deal not to have it.

Two thumbs up!!! Makes the car a real delight to drive at low speed. One of my favorite options.

I'm glad they took it out because I didn't want to move from my E39 to the E60 because I had to have the sport package but didn't want AS. You can still get AS as a stand alone option in addition to the Sport Package but now at least that option isn't forced upon you. That said I accidentally test drove an E60 with AS and REALLY liked it. Not 100% sure if I liked it because my V8 E39 had the reciculating ball steeting and the E60 had R&P or if it really was the AS that I liked. In the end I didn't get it but I might on the next go around.
