My Ride: 2009 550i sports, Nav, logic Best E60 yet
2004 545i, sports pkg, logic 7 steptronic, rear shade, orient blue with beige interior, blue tooth enabled Razer Phone. 2004 X5 3.0, sports pkg, stepronic, summer pkg. imola red.
2006 Mini Cooper S, manual, sports, prem pkg, nav and kitchen sink.
My 2004 545i with sports package came with active steering, now this is a stand alone option. My question to you guys is, Would you pay additional money for it on your next 5 series car?
I believe that even with some of the software changes that my car has received, that newer version cars have the latest version of active steering which feels better than the system fitted on my 2004 car. Most days I really like active steering but wish it was a tad stiffer.

Personally yes, I would and I will. Software updates have made changes to the feel as you say and I read on here the other day that version 21 seems to make some additional changes (and based on the posts, some additional improvements). I really like AS, but understand why some others prefer the standard setup. It's the first thing I miss when I end up stuck in a loaner car....

I am very well satisfied with my Mar '04 build active steering system. It has a great road feel and in really shines at slow speeds, tight quarters and parking lots.

I would get it if it's an available option on the next car. I do love AS, and the fact that my hands rarely need to cross while turning.
