Ok. Thanks. Maybe I just have to admit and live with that. I was so disappointed when I was told that I should get navigation to get ACC with stop&go. I would have really wanted that function but to get also unneeded navi (Nokia Navi) worth of 3400? was a bit too much.
I have a question : can I 'upgrade" my active steering (on my 2004 with navi prof.) to stop and go system?

if you ment can you upgrade active cruies to the stop and go cruise, then the answer i got was no. there was extrs sensors above those on the ver 1 acc. stop and go is ver2.

can you up grade from active steering absolutely no two different systems.

in the us you dont need the nav to get acc.

BMW E-60 model year 2008 has Stop n Go feature with Actve cruise Control, Previous model years do not have S n G with ACC.
I wished it also had Start n Stop feature that is in some Euro Models, I am waiting for this feature in BMW.

HI you all

I just ordered my 2008 E60 530xdA. I would have wanted to get Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function but it's only available with business or professional navigation systems. Is there some particular reason why BMW offers it only with navigation systems? If I have understood correctly Stop&Go system doesn't use navigation anyways.. I ordered professional radio.

I've read that some people have got fold-up mirrors in their new 2008 BMWs without ordering them, perhaps included in a package. Can it be included in comfort or advantage package even it was not mentioned on the list.

Car location in Europe.

mikkoworld,

I think I know why you need the navigation system with ACC in Europe. I have actually worked on this feature and might have the answer you're looking for. The reason why you need the navigation system is because there are spots in Europe where there are Telescopes which operate at a radar frequency close to where the active cruise control operates. So the operation of the ACC may interfere with the operation of these telescopes or vice versa. Per EU regulations, you need to turn off the ACC functionality within a certain distance of where these telescopes are located, thats where the navigation systems comes into play. Based on the GPS location of these telescopes, the ACC system gets the info from the navigation and knows that it needs to shut off witin a certain range of these GPS location(s). So that's the reason why. Remember this is only for the European markets. The US has no such regulations and thus the ACC feature can be sold without a navigation system within the US.

Hope this answers your question.
I am new to the forum and just got a brand new 2008 535i a few days ago and I'm loving it!!!
