Activating DRL update Idrive software as well?

Hi guys, have a 05 545i build date of May 05 which has never had an Idrive software since purchased back in Nov05. Just wondering if opting to have the DRL programmed by dealer will require them to update the software as well or if they can program it without updating software. Don't have Nav or L7. Is there anything included in updated software that would be beneficial to update from whatever version the car came with? Thanks for any answers!

With my vehicle still being under the original warranty, would I also be responsible to pay additional for any modules that needs to be replaced due to incompatibilites with the software update?

I have a CPO 2005 545i, and I had the dealer turn on the DRL's as a safety issue, they did not charge me as it was a CPO, so it was like a repair to them! 
As for the Idrive and DRL's, my Idrive (recently updated) does NOT offer the option of turning them on and off!
