Theirs a button on your driver side, right above where your hood opener is.

Depending on the age of your car you may not actually have a button. But you can always add one there. Search on here, there is a DIY on how you can do that.

Well, you don't actually have to get out of the car, but you do have to remove the key from the ignition!
I got browned off with the lack of an internal boot release too. It is a real boon to be able to pop the boot when its raining outside and the kids/wife have hands full of bags. I did the mod to add the button, and it is worth the small hassle to do it. The worst thing about it is that BMW don't do beige buttons, it is just black or black. As Bruce said, do a search and all will be revealed!

+1

I'm confused, I thought there was always a trunk/boot release button on the drive side. Maybe thats not the case in UK.

even if you don't have the release button inside the car you still shouldn't have to turn the car off and go outside to use your key, don't all the trunk/boots have a button on the outside just above your license plate between the plate lights? My car as a release button on the outside and I have the one inside by the hood release.

interesting, now I'm gonna have to go home and try this its not something that I've ever noticed. But to be honest I'm not sure if I've eer tried opening my trunk/boot while the key is in the ignition.
