Acoustic Confirm on Lock

Over here we don't get a chance to enable the beeps.
On software updates your persoanl settings are getting erased, most of the times.
Anyways, in your idrive settings you will find the box for the beeps checked. Uncheck it, and then check it again! If it still doesn't work, go and have your dealer check it. Sometimes idrive shows stuff enabled, allthough it has been disabled during the update process.

[/quote]In US cars after 16.2, all 4 boxes are checked in Vehicle Settings, "acoustic [and flash] confirmation" on lock and unlock. Still no acoustic confirmation on lock / unlock.
I'll ask my tech to test the next few he does.
Interesting to note that not everybody has it. Two (2) beeps after locking with the remote key.
Another free upgrade coming, I can see..

I just got 16.2 the other day. I noticed that I didn 't get a confirmation beep when locking. In the iDrive, all 4 boxes were checked. I unchecked lock confirmation and re-checked it and it works fine now.

[/quote]What happened was that the siren shorted out during the update process. On US cars, that chirp you hear 'on lock' is actually the alarm siren.
Little did I know, not only was the "Acoustic Confirm on Lock" malfunctioning, the audible portion of the alarm was also silenced.
I wonder, how else would you know that you have a bad siren, without actually testing the alarm?
