You know, it took a public bashing for me to learn how to talk to members here with respect. Maybe its your turn?
In regards to the OP post, I have the same problem with my car. AC just turns on when car starts. I've searched all options in iDrive and found nothing that disables this.

Meantime I too would love to know how to turn off the blower from activating everytime I start the car. We use two keys often. Different drivers. I have noticed for my key AC blower is always "ON" while the other key when used, its "OFF" I am dumb-founded by it. Tried a few things but unsuccessful in getting both keys to be the same.
My preference would be to start car without AC since for this car, battery condition is vital. Why load the battery more at start with the AC. I still have my hands and fingers to turn the AC manually.
cheers

How? I suffer the same fate when my views oppose that of some hardcore members here.

After reading your post, I was determined to understand why my key is set with AC switched ON while the other key doesn't do that. After a few failed attempts of trial and error method, I finally sorted it out. Sadly though I am not 100% sure of the procedure. Like I said, it was many trials.
If you would like to know my last steps that did it, PM me.
I rather not post something here that could be wrong and then everyone blasts me for it. There will always be a few wise a$$ forum members who tends to be condescending. haha...
Note: It will also work the other way around.. ie start car with the AC always coming on.
cheers

I find this setting really annoying too. the best solution for me is to turn the a/c and auto air off, then turn the fan down all the way to the lowest setting. the car will remember to start this way the next time you start the car. that way, you aren't always using your compressor...

I find that sometime I can turn it off an other times it just comes back on. Yesterday i pressed the Off button before shutting off my car and when I turned it back on it remebered the Off position. Its hit and miss for me.
