Has anyone else had this complaint? Is it just my car (04-545i) or is there something I can do to fix this problem?

doesnt work for me i went to vehicle settings and i only have (steering wheel options/ FTM/ Audio/ Lock ) no climate control. now if i go on the imenu i have climate control there with the automatic programs and i have high med. low but that controls the amount of air coming out not the coldness. the coldness of the air i thought depends on the setting with the blue and red bars =p

Make sure you have the center vent temp all the way to 4 blue bars. It certainly should be cold at that setting. Although in 90+ weather, it does take a while to get there. Its in the vent settings of the climate iDrive menus.

Do you have climate control settings at all?
If you tilt your idrive knob to the left it should take you there and then you can make the necessary changes.

i have the climate control from there but not from vehicle settings when you enter the idrive menu, and the high only turns up the ac to full blast not the temp. of the air i have it set to the coldest right now and it works just takes longer to cool down than others cars i've had =p or it could be that i have a black car lol

You should be able to go into the climate control menu and look for "vent settings" in the 2nd row tabs. Then move down and over to where the arrow is pointing to adjust. Change it to 4 blue bars.

I have the same problem and my car is also (04-545i). Started with low cooling and then not cooling only from (driver side). After checking with BMW dealer, they saying A/C evaporator is leaking and needs to be changed.
