Has anyone else had this complaint? Is it just my car (04-545i) or is there something I can do to fix this problem?

To meet your individual needs, you can
weaken or strengthen the intensity of the
automatic climate control.
1. Turn the ignition key to position 1
2. Open the menu
3. Select "Vehicle settings" and press the
controller
4. Select "Climate control" and press the
controller
5. "Automatic programs"
6. Select the desired intensity and press
the controller.
Try Intense.

I'll try that as soon as I get home...
I was just complaining on another post, about how weak the AC is in this car...
There can be no half-stepping on the AC output in Dallas, TX.
