My Ride: 2007 Sapphire Black Metallic 525i. Beige Dakota Leather, Premium package, bluetooth, BMW Assist, Xenon adaptive lights, Sirius radio
Today made the 3rd time that my car did not respond to hitting the "max" ac button, lowering the temp, or increasing the fan speed manually. When it was in the shop last week the dealership could not duplicate. The problem is intermittent. It did respond to increase in temperature ( heat came on when I raised the temp as high as it would go).
Put it backon 70 and within a few minutes it worked as it should.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it typical. Does the car need to think abot what I want for a few mintes before it responds.
Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

i havent had that problem
but i have noticed that sometimes when i turn off the AC it goes back on by itself. its only happened like 3 times so far but it doesnt bother me, its just strange. i will have the dealer look into it when i get around to taking the car in for other more important issues...

Do you think unplugging the battery for a few minutes would reset everything?
Happened twice to me with my '05 E60 and once with my '01 E39.
In the E39 the regulator was easy to change, but in the E60 it will
take your dealer about four hours to change it.
The regulator brake down is a common E60 fault and should therefore be
replaced without costs.
In my '05 E60 they changed both the regulator and the fan for free, twice - after some fighting...

Your problem is probably caused by a defected AC regulator.

Did it get to the point that it was a continous problem for you or did it remain intermittent?

Martin
