I had Huper Optik installed on my last 330i. I was pretty pleased with it. It really wasn't that much more expensive. For me it was hard to tell if the ceramic film was that much more efficient at blocking heat. If it is true, it saves the AC having to work so hard, and thereby saves gas.

Nothing will happen to the car with 87octane. I fill mine up with 89. I havent filled it up with 91 ever. The car runs smoothly and perfectly. I use to own a gas station so Im familiar with the ratings and usage on the vehicle. If your car was manufactured before 1995 you can tell the difference in driving performance using lower Octance rating. But anything newer then that is just an illusion youve put in your head. My two cents of it.

Gasoline here in OC right now near my home is $2.09-87Octane $2.19-89Octane $2.29-91Octane <----ARCO West Coast <-----BP East Coast

Same thing in Oregon. It is far too dangerous to pump your own!!

I don't think any real harm will be done. The main impact will be fuel consumption rate.
