I have a 2004 530i with 300k miles. The transmission is shot and it is a 6HP-19. I have another 6HP-19 out of a 2006 530i that was working fine when it was pulled. Can I just swap these out one for one and go or do I also need to swap the Mechatronics? I’m worried about the computer matching to the VIN matching to the transmission, and really don’t want to do this more than once.
