Her biggest dilemma? Whether or not to "deface" the toy by putting on the front licence plate. Both of us have been stopped already for our missing plates- i bit the bullet and put it on (doesn't look too bad) but she is gonna hold out. We're both African-American, and I don't need to increase my hassle ops. We'll see.
The fact that you have to be worried about being stopped because of your race is far more disturbing to me than the front plate issue...that sucks.

In California the front lic. plate is required but not enforced much. The dealer leaves it off and gives you the option of installing it for free.

If you leave it off and install it later, the dealer will still install it for free.

I'm taking my chances right now. 3k miles.

Wow! you guys are taking a chance...Happy that we don t have a front license plate in Quebec. I agree it looks much better without it!... How much is the fine in your respective states?

Just curious

In California it is a fix it ticket, but it does give the police the right to stop you anytime for no reason regardless of race. Having been stopped twice for having my Euro plates when the car was first delivered (I did European Delivery), I immediately put the CA plates on when received both front and back.

In Europe they use double-stick tape - you could do the same. Just make sure you get some really good stuff - it should work.
