Hi Folks,

I'm new to the forum.
Have just purchased a 545i due for delivery before the end of March.
I now have to decide on some dealer stuff.

1. 6-Disc CD changer
I understand this goes into the glove compartment. Does it take away space in there or does it fit behind in some way. If it does take away space, is the space remaining adequate?

2. does anybody have Chipguard (3M Scothal). Can you see it at all? Is it worth $500 CAD (applied to hood and fender only)

3. How do guys feel about paint protection, rust module, and interior protection? Dealer rip-offs or useful?

Thanks.

1. CD changer fits behind glove box so does not take up any storage space.

2. Do not have 3M film but I think this may be a good investment, I now have 39,000 miles on the clock since launch day and lots of chips!!

3. Waste of money

Hope this helps
Simon

From everything I have read, #2 Chipguard is well worth it, especially in Canada. Paint, Rust and Interior protection is a waste of money.

Welcome to the site

I can't help with the protection as we don't have it in the UK.

The CD changer fits at the back of the glovebox and is accessed through the glovebox door. Its easier than the boot mounted version as CD's can be changed on the move either sensibly by the passenger or by the driver with a slight danger element!
