Every time I unlock and enter the car, the 6 CD changer in the glove box cycles through (loads/unloads) all 6 CDs. It's a bit of a pain Is this normal?

Thanks.

Ian.

I had the same thing happen on mine. The problem turned out to be that the battery did not have enough of a charge, so all the peripherals that normally run are shut down. The dealer replaced the battery under the 4 year warranty.
It could also be a problem with the car not going in to "sleep mode", where something is drawing a charge from the battery.
The dealer should be able to diagnose and remedy.

Mine does "loads" in the glovebox changer and makes that annoying sound, but it dont do it always. I have had problems with the six disk icons that you can click on will not lighting up so I can select a CD to play!! I had it back into BMW and they can never get it to fail! What is go out completly after my 4yr/50,000 miles BMW waranty does!!! (LOL)

I had the same issue and that's exactly what my SA / technician noted on my ticket.

Thanks. I'll get the battery checked at the next service.

I am not sure about the battery, i have this same issue and have replaced the battery, both with a OEM one, and now an Interstate battery, i get the same thing, I have nothing aux plugged in no cell charger etc... and yet i get the same thing almost but not every time i get in,
I will check the sleep mode, and i have scheduled to have the i drive updated, but i have also read it is possible my earth ground on the battery is not properly secure, but i have not found which wire that is in there, if anyone can point it out it would be great,

this is the first and only issue i have with my 545i, but i feel the frustration of people that have this problem, it is weird,

I am also having them run a diagnostic on the alternator just incase,

At the independant service I had the battery tested out of the car amd an earth leakage test and all is ok. No error codes either. I'm now at a loss what this is. Sometimes after a run and then the car is left for a short while, when re-entering the CD changer cycles again, yet surely the battery must have had a good charge minutes earlier? I'm sure it hasn't always done this so not sure how a software error could have crept in somewhere??? Trying to avoid a main dealer bill if possible
