Hello everyone,

I am posting on behalf of my friend. He just bought a 2007 525xi that was involved in an accident. all damage was repaired including the transmission cross member. the car now starts and drives, however, the check engine light is ON and shows a trouble code 5F3A which points to a Transfer Case Malfunction. He has replaced the Servomotor, the Servomotor sensor and the whole transfer case but can't get rid of the light. My guess is that there is some reset procedure that needs to be done after the repair. can anyone confirm that and how to go about doing the reset?

any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Can he use NCSExpert to clear the case and see what happens? Someone local with coding expertise can help.

Problem solved. it was a loose wire in the plug for the Servomotor.
Thanks

And no reset was required. As soon as we repaired the connection and plugged it back on, all the lights went away.
