5EBA NOT resolved by cleaning sensor
I've been pretty consistently getting a 5EBA code if I accelerate into a fairly sharp turn at highway speeds (I live in the mountains, so this is a near daily occurrence). I tore the steering column down today to clean the steering angle sensor, and... Honestly, it wasn't that dirty. I still wiped it down well with a microfiber cloth and IPA, and... I mean, there wasn't nothing on the cloth, but I got everything that was gettable. I reassembled the whole thing, and took it for a test drive, and it's still there as much as ever. Is there anything else that can cause a 5EBA?
I have the print manuals (haven't set up a laptop yet with the BMW software suite), and pretty much everything about the steering angle sensor ends with something to the effect of calibrating it in software. I haven't seen anything about that anywhere online, and there's nothing in the manual about what happens if you DON'T perform this calibration. Anyone have any info on this?

Calibration is not needed to correct the code. I personally would replace the SZL and move on from it. After cleaning and it not fixing it that tells me it's something wrong with it.

Well that's $500-600 worth of bad news right there. Unless I can find one in a yard; a feat I've yet to accomplish... What would I be looking for in a donor car, since the wagons are a half step above hens' teeth? Looks like heated steering wheel at a minimum. Anything else?
