Here's a comment from someone who has driven the 550:

... Those M5's are being driven by some of BMW's top NA personal. I have a driver from BMT(Bavarian Motor Transport) come in and told me that he has ran M5's all across the country! Also, he told me that he has delivered X5 4.8iS in 6-Speed Manual's...thats right, manual transmissions!!!! Also, he said that a MZ4 is also being tested in South Carolina!! He also drove the 550i...amazing, and i quote the man!

I'm not surprised, with the 545 already delivering so much punch with finesse when on the move. I wonder if they have the idling vibrations and little irritating problems fixed on the new models yet.

Almost 18,000 miles here and the car has been absolutely perfect. Absolutely silky smooth at all speeds. Not a rattle, squeak, or shimmy. No vibration whatsoever. The only problem was echo's on the cell phone which was corrected with a version 13 install.

Sure (change to lower case, caps is shouting). Begin manufacture in September for October delivery. 360 hp, 360 tq. Should be a beast - very similar to the E39 M5 in terms of power-weight. Search the forum for 550 news - there are a few threads with more details.
