My Ride: 2004 550i - AS, SP, CWP, Nav, L7, Rear Sunshades, PDC, Comfort Seats
I will start with WOW!!!! The LCI is a big improvement from previous E60. I picked up my beast last Thursday and have put on about 400 miles. This is the ultimate driving machine!!!!
Here are my first impressions:
1) MTech sport kit with 172s and space grey is a great combination I must say. My wife talked me out of getting carbon black and glad she did. My last 3 cars were black and the change was worth it.
2) MTech suspension is an improvement over the standard sport suspension. The ride is more stiffer and has a more sportier feel. Twisties watch out!!!!
3) Exhaust enhancement is great and the tips make it very distinctive.
4) The front headlights are a nice improvement, the yellow reflector will take getting used to. The rear brake lights and directional signal are a vast improvement and look a lot more sleeker.
5) Navigation with RTTI is a great combination. It directed me to all the detours during the noreaster, what roadways were closed and if there were any traffic interruptions.
6) Blue Tooth functionality was a very simple. As soon as I sat in the car, it immediately found my blackberry device and asked to be paired. The iDrive downloaded my address book to memory.
7) Comfort seats are a must have. Coming from sport seats with no support, this is a welcome surprise.
8) Active steering is more stiffer and responsive.
9) Shifter is pretty easy to get used to. Press the release button and push up for reverse and push down for drive. The shifter returns to its original position. The DS and M is the still the same.
10) The transmission shift times are much quicker than the previous steptronic. I have not test DS mode yet, waiting for the break-in period to finish to open her up.
I have a question, is regenerative braking included in March production or starting in June production vehicles?
I promise to post some pics and some sound clips of the exhaust. It has been raining here for the past 6 days, I will clean her up and post the pics.
It was worth the wait!!!! For those of you still waiting, you know who you are, the finish line is near !!!!!! Good luck and enjoy. I want to see your pics as well.

Only 2 weeks to go until my 550 ED - you're making me even more crazy!! Your car sounds incredible. Good luck.
btw, one minor question - do the rear LED directionals blink amber or red?

I test drove the Acura RL with traffic info and it only showed traffic for major highways, like I95 and the thruway, and no local streets. I wanna know which street is best to get crosstown in Manhattan !

edit: note that I am talking about the rear indicators, not the front. I assume the front are yellow/amber...
