It is funny what you're saying Brent because before buying my former 550i, I was about to sign for a '06 E55 AMG !
(The thing is that the dealer told me it has the panorama roof, whereas it didn't have it.)
Yes, paddle shifters can not replace the stick for being in control of your gears, that's obvious !

I was wondering, is there a big noticing gap between the Sport Auto and the "classic" Auto ?
Could we compare the quickness of the Sport Auto to a double-clutch transmission ?
Even though I said that I've made my decision, in fact, I haven't yet.

Two inexperience drivers (non professional)?
The auto will almost always win out straight line or in thetwisties.
That being said I would always pick a manual for fun unless I was racing.
